Etran de L’Aïr – 2024 Vancouver Folk Music Festival
Greetings! This weekend, we’re broadcasting live from Jericho Beach for the 2024 Vancouver Folk Music Festival. It’s a beautiful day in Vancouver – perfect for getting outside, soaking up the sun by the ocean, and enjoying the cool mountain breezes. With plenty of tickets still available for the Main Stage acts, it’s a great opportunity to spend the weekend listening to live music from around the world.
We’ve had the privilege of watching many phenomenal artists perform today, and we’re excited for what’s still to come. Can’t make it in person?
No worries – we’re happy to bring a little bit of the Folk Festival to you. Enjoy this collection of photos from the Main Stage, captured by our talented photographers Miles Pederson and Ken Boyer.
Next up, we have an incredible group all the way from Niger, Africa Etran de L’Aïr. This band is a must-have for any celebration in the Sahara, whether it’s a wedding, baptism, or political event. Hailing from the desert blues capital of Agadez, Etran De L’Aïr blends traditional Tuareg-Berber sounds with rock, soul, reggae, and funk.
Despite humble beginnings without electricity or amplification, Etran De L’Aïr has evolved a joyous, intoxicating energy that’s truly captivating to experience live. And you can do just that – they’ll be performing at our big get-together in the park, so come join us!
Don’t miss out on the rest of the festival – get your tickets now for the finale show at 10:45. And as an added bonus, there will be a fireworks display tonight. What better way to watch than with live music, dancing, and good company at Jericho Beach? We’ll see you there!
