“La morena” is a traditional son jaracho from the south of Veracruz. It is customary to be danced in parties only by women, while verses that praise their beauty are recited. They express the bliss of love and the torment of deceit, and the joy of affairs. “Who put honey, offspring of sacred land, in your mouth? “La morena” es un son jarocho tradicional del sur de Veracruz. Es costumbre que en las fiestas sea bailado solamente por mujeres, mientras se declaman los versos que enaltecen su belleza, expresan la dicha del amor y el tormento del engaño, y la alegría de los albures.
